Our Second Prelimanary Report

On the comming Thursday night we will publish our second preliminary report at the Eighth annual conference of the City of David researchs. This report will include all the new finds and research developments since our last report, on March 2006. For more information about the forthcoming conference click here.

The conference is open to everyone, and will take place at Area E at the City of David.

The First Commercial in the History for an Archaeological Project

Ir-David Foundation has produced a commercial for promoting participation of groups in the sifting project. I believe it is the first commercial ever that was produced to promote an archaeological excavation.

More Archaeological Destruction on the Temple Mount

Last Sunday Waqf officials used a tractor to dig an 80m long ditch on the  Temple Mount platform, in order to install new electricity lines. The trench depth varies from 50 – 100 cm deep. During the excavation, grey earth, which indicates archaeological significance was removed from the dig,. In addition, signs of ancient architecture were exposed beneath the current platform slabs!!
